We offer private car seat installation lessons in Baltimore and NYC. Whether you are pregnant with your 1st child - or your 5th - learning how to use your child's car seat properly is always a smart choice. Even if you are positive you installed it properly - it is still best to get it checked since we find that only about 1 in 100 seats are used properly. If your car seat is properly installed when you arrive, there is NO CHARGE for the visit!

Each class lasts approximately one hour and is a private, one-on-one lesson with your vehicle/s and the car seat/s. Here's what happens at the lesson:
1. We will teach you how to install the car seat properly in your vehicle - and you will leave with the seat properly installed AND the knowledge of how to install it should it come out.
2. We will teach you how to secure the child properly in the harness straps - if you are pregnant we will use a newborn size doll to practice.
3. If you are using an infant carrier, we we will show you how to secure the carrier without the base for times when you are traveling in other vehicles, like taxis or rental cars.

Don't own a car? Many NYC parents who meet with us do not own a vehicle - you are welcome to rent a Zipcar or borrow a friend's car for the lesson - and we will teach you how to use your car seat properly so you will feel comfortable installing it in any vehicle you might ride in - be it a taxi, rental car, or friend's car.

Important: If possible, please contact us BEFORE purchasing your car seat -- we will be happy to discuss the best seat(s) for your vehicle and lifestyle when you contact us. If you already have your car seat, DO NOT remove the tags or throw out the receipt, box, and packing materials. The car seat you have chosen may not be the best fit for your vehicle -- so having the receipt and box will make any necessary exchanges much easier.
